Office Cat Review: Is This Management Game Worth Playing

I’ve been playing Office Cat for about a month now, and it reminds me a lot of Kairosoft’s games. It’s simple, but oh-so-satisfying. If you’re into managing things without too much stress, this game is right up your alley.

In Office Cat, you’re in charge of an office building where different companies rent out spaces. Think of it like a shared office setup. Your job is to improve the building and make money while you’re at it.

The cool part is that the game doesn’t just follow the typical “earn money, upgrade, earn more” loop. Instead of just leveling up, you improve individual items in rooms—chairs, desks, plants, and more. Every upgrade feels like a step forward, and you always feel like you’re making meaningful choices.

It might seem simple at first, but trust me, the charm lies in the cute animations and the overall design. The office is full of adorable cats doing their thing—working, taking breaks, or even using the bathroom. The art style is clean and looks great.

But the real fun was the cat-themed company names. Here’s a few examples that made me laugh:

The company building name is iGamingXP.

What Could Be Better?

I have been loving Office Cat, but there are a few things that could be improved:

  • Too much cat chatter:  Phew Phew Phew All the cats complain about their office at the same time, and it gets a little chaotic.
  • The plant mechanic is confusing: I never actually got a plant, even though I used the roulette system multiple times.
  • The roulette wheel is a rip-off: It costs 160 gems to spin, but half the rewards aren’t even worth it.
  • Zooming out would be great: It’d be nice to see the entire office without having to scroll.
  • End-game balance: The “car full of cash” feature becomes the main moneymaker late in the game, making other sources of income feel useless.

Most I Hate

The game has so many ads. There are two ads at one time You can use them to do things like change tenants, skip nights, or double your rewards. But if you want to skip all ads, you can pay a one-time $5 fee. There’s also an option to buy extra gems, but it’s not really necessary.
