How To Play Call Of Duty Black Ops 7 Early With The New Zealand Trick

With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 almost here, many fans are eager to jump in the moment the game becomes available. What most players don’t know is that there’s a simple trick that lets you play the game earlier than others. It’s called the New Zealand trick, and it has been used in past CoD launches as well.

Here’s a clear and easy guide to help you use this method safely and start playing BO7 before everyone else.

What Is the New Zealand Trick?

The method is simple. Games on digital platforms release according to local time zones. Since New Zealand is one of the first regions to move into a new day, players who switch their device region to New Zealand can unlock the game earlier.

By changing your address in your Activision profile and adjusting your device’s location settings, you can launch Black Ops 7 as soon as it goes live in New Zealand.

This method works on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

How to Use the New Zealand Trick for Black Ops 7

1. Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One

To unlock BO7 early on your Xbox:

  1. Log in to your Activision account.
  2. Go to Profile → Basic Info.
  3. Enter a New Zealand address in the Address field and press Save.
  4. On your Xbox, open Settings.
  5. Go to System → Language & Location.
  6. Change your Region to New Zealand.
  7. Restart your console.

Once your Xbox restarts, the game should unlock if it is already available in NZ’s time zone.

2. PlayStation

PlayStation users have the simplest process:

  1. Log in to your Activision profile.
  2. Go to Basic Info and change the address to a New Zealand location.

That’s all you need. Your PS5 or PS4 should then access BO7 when the NZ launch time hits.

3. PC (Battle.net or Steam)

PC players can also use this trick by adjusting their system settings:

  1. Log in to your Activision account.
  2. Open Profile → Basic Info.
  3. Add any New Zealand address and Save.
  4. On your PC, open Time & Language settings in Windows.
  5. Set your country to New Zealand.
  6. Save the changes and restart your PC.

When your system restarts, you should be able to launch Black Ops 7 earlier than your region’s usual release time.
