Fortnite has finally added the much-awaited Groot Sidekick to the game. The popular character joined Fortnite during Chapter 7 Season 1 with the v39.11 update. Players can now explore matches with the iconic tree character from the Guardians of the Galaxy universe by their side.
This Sidekick version features the baby Groot design, making it a fun companion during gameplay.
Groot Sidekick Price and Item Shop Details
As of December 29, 2025, the Groot Sidekick is available in the Fortnite Item Shop. It can be found under the Guardians of the Galaxy section. The Sidekick is not included in any bundle and must be purchased separately.
Players can buy the Groot Sidekick for 1,500 V-Bucks. This release is part of Fortnite’s ongoing collaboration with Marvel and continues their tradition of bringing famous characters into the game.
Rewards Included With the Groot Sidekick
Once you own the Groot Sidekick, you can unlock extra rewards by earning Sidekick points. These points are gained by using the Sidekick in supported Fortnite modes and earning XP while playing.
The unlockable items include:
- Groot Banner Icon
- Groot Heart Reaction
- Headphones on style
- Groot’s Jam Time emote
After unlocking them, these styles and emotes become permanent features of your Sidekick.
How Long Will Groot Stay in the Item Shop
The Groot Sidekick will remain available in the Fortnite Item Shop until January 4, 2026, at 7 PM Eastern Time.
Players should also note that this Sidekick is not exclusive to a battle pass or season. This means it will return in future Item Shop rotations, even if you miss it this time.
