The PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 will mark the grand end of this year’s competitive PUBG Mobile season. This will be the sixth edition of the global tournament and is set to take place in Thailand. With a new competitive map, a recall system, and a completely redesigned format that promises more intense action and unpredictable results, PMGC 2025 is predicted to be unlike any previous edition.
PMGC 2025 is expected to be the most thrilling competition in PUBG Mobile esports history, with the top teams from around the globe taking part. Four different teams have won the championship in the past five years, with Chinese teams frequently taking the lead. But with Indian teams returning to the international scene, the competition is now more open than before.
A Fresh Format for PMGC 2025
This year’s PMGC will follow a brand-new structure designed to make every stage more competitive and thrilling. There will be four stages to the tournament: the Gauntlet Stage, Group Stage, Last Chance, and Grand Finals.
Here’s a quick look at how the competition will progress:
| Stage | Total Teams | Qualified Teams | Total Matches |
| Gauntlet | 16 | Top 7 teams move to Grand Finals; remaining 9 go to Group Stage | 18 |
| Group Stage | 32 | Top 3 from each group (6 total) go to Grand Finals; 4th–11th from each group (16 total) go to Last Chance | 18 per group |
| Last Chance | 16 | Top 2 teams move to Grand Finals | 12 |
| Grand Finals | 16 | 7 from Gauntlet, 6 from Group Stage, 2 from Last Chance, and 1 Host Country Invitee | 18 |
This structure ensures every match counts. Even if a team doesn’t make it through in the early stages, they still have a chance to fight back and reach the Grand Finals through the Last Chance round.
New Map and Recall System in PMGC 2025
The most exciting change this year is the replacement of Sanhok with a brand-new map called Rondo. This fresh battleground will test players in new ways with its terrain, layout, and gameplay dynamics.
Another major introduction is the recall system a feature that allows teams to bring back eliminated players until the 4th circle. This system adds a new layer of strategy to the matches, forcing teams to think beyond survival. Smart recalls could help teams recover from early losses and go on to dominate the game.
With these changes, PMGC 2025 is not just about shooting and positioning anymore; it’s also about timing, teamwork, and tactical decisions.
