A New Chapter Begins for SiGMA in South Asia: Between 30 November and 02 December 2025, SiGMA South Asia officially arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka, welcoming 2,500 global delegates from the gaming, tech and affiliate industries. Hosted at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, the summit was a milestone in SiGMA Group’s expansion into South Asia, a region rising fast in digital business, gaming innovation and regulatory development. With leaders, regulators and creative minds gathered together, the event helped place Sri Lanka firmly on the map as a growing force in the industry.
Pre-Event Excitement, Awards Night and A Meaningful Cause
Delegates began arriving on 30 November, checking in for Pre-Registration and enjoying a customised Explore Colombo by Jeep experience. It was a fun and exciting way to introduce visitors to the city’s culture and coastline while building anticipation ahead of the conference.
In the evening, guests gathered for the SiGMA South Asia Awards inside the Cumulus Ballroom at Cinnamon Life. The venue was beautifully styled, featuring saxophone music and traditional Sri Lankan dance performances by Dark Shine Dancers. It set the perfect atmosphere for celebrating excellence and recognising standout contributors across the industry.
The charity auction became the emotional highlight of the night. Funds raised through the SiGMA Foundation were directed to victims of the devastating Cyclone Ditwa floods. Every contribution went towards emergency relief efforts, offering real support to affected communities and proving SiGMA’s dedication to social impact.
Industry leaders including Spribe, PG Soft, Softswiss, 1xBet, BetConstruct and Melbet Affiliates were among those honoured during the awards. The Hall of Game title also highlighted groundbreaking figures who are driving positive transformation in gaming. The South Asia Hall of Game honourees included, Lawrence Ho, Chairman & CEO, Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Melco International Development and Tony Macmillan, General Manager of Gaming & Operations, Bally’s Casino Entertainment Ltd.
Day One Highlights: Expo Launch and a Major Moment for Sri Lanka
The conference opened with a historic development for Sri Lanka. On the same day as SiGMA South Asia, the Sri Lankan government launched the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA), which will manage and regulate the country’s gaming sector moving forward. It marked a major step in establishing a structured and transparent industry environment.
Another key feature of the day was Malta Day, held in recognition of Malta’s upcoming Republic Day celebrations. The gathering was hosted by Eman Pulis and H.E. Reuben Gauci, Maltese High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Ambassador to Nepal. Guests were welcomed with VIP drinks followed by a formal diplomatic reception in The Studio.
Later, a guided tour led by Eman Pulis along with SIGMA’s Emily Micallef, CEO and Clive Terribile, CFO took attendees through exhibition highlights. Speeches shared insight into Malta’s status as a leading gaming hub and the growing relationship between Malta and South Asia.
The evening continued with an executive networking event at Pool and Bar 09 on floor 9, powered by Wicked Games, WikiBet and Quantum Gaming. Live musicians and cultural dance performances added to the relaxed yet elegant setting, giving industry professionals space to connect and exchange ideas.
The Finale: Music, City Views and Lasting Connections
The last night of SiGMA South Asia brought everyone together once again for the SiGMA Official Celebration at the open-air Pool and Bar on Level 9. After two full days of meetings and discussions, delegates enjoyed a well-earned night of music and celebration under the city skyline. Live performers opened the evening before DJ Trevv D and DJ Shane kept the crowd energised with late-night sets. With guests moving between lounge areas, the dance floor and the poolside, it was the ideal way to wrap up the first edition of SiGMA South Asia.
Onward to 2026
With thousands of attendees, impactful sessions and the launch of Sri Lanka’s Gambling Regulatory Authority, SiGMA South Asia 2025 closed on a high note. The event confirmed SiGMA’s growing presence in the region and highlighted the strong potential of South Asia as a gaming and tech hub.
As 2025 concludes, SiGMA celebrates its successful Sri Lankan debut and the impressive year behind it. The excitement doesn’t end here. Bigger plans are already underway.
