Call of Duty: Mobile is about to get one of its craziest crossover events yet. The game’s upcoming Season 5 update, titled “Revenge,” will officially introduce characters and powers from The Boys, including Homelander, Starlight and Black Noir.
The update arrives on May 27 and feels much bigger than a normal cosmetic collaboration. Instead of only adding operator skins, the developers have built entire game modes around the chaotic superhero world of The Boys. Players will be able to use powers inspired by the series while fighting through multiplayer and battle royale matches.
It also comes right after the ending of season five of The Boys, keeping the franchise in the spotlight at a time when fans are still talking about the finale. Call of Duty has already worked with the series before through Modern Warfare and Warzone, but this is the first time the mobile version has received a crossover on this scale.
Homelander And The Supes Are Changing Gameplay
One of the biggest additions is a mode called “Supe’d Up Attack of the Undead,” which puts a superhero spin on the classic infected style gameplay. Players must survive against infected enemies until only one human remains alive.
The final survivor then unlocks powers tied to one of the Supes. Homelander can hover in the air while firing lasers from his eyes, Starlight releases electrical shockwaves that slow enemies and Black Noir uses a katana while gaining extra speed after eliminations.
The battle royale mode is also getting a major overhaul through something called “Vought Royale.” Temp V will appear around the map, allowing players to temporarily unlock random powers. Some abilities include teleportation, laser vision and giant leap attacks that damage enemies when landing.
The crossover actually looks designed to change the way matches feel instead of just throwing in a few themed outfits. That alone has made the update stand out from many previous Call of Duty collaborations.
Season 5 Adds Much More Beyond The Boys
There is also plenty of regular content arriving with the update. A new mode called Armored Royale focuses heavily on vehicle combat, with squads spawning alongside armored vehicles that double as mobile respawn stations.
Season 5 also introduces the BAL-27 assault rifle, fresh weapon blueprints, updated events and a new Battle Pass featuring additional operator skins and cosmetics. Players will even be able to choose between factions inspired by The Boys universe to unlock themed rewards throughout the season.
Call of Duty has leaned heavily into crossover events over the last few years, but this one feels especially chaotic in the best possible way. Between superpowers, zombies, laser vision and battle royale madness, Season 5 looks like one of the most entertaining updates Call of Duty: Mobile has had in a long time.
