SBC Summit 2025: Asia Takes Center Stage in Emerging Gaming Markets

SBC Summit 2025: Asia Takes Center Stage in Emerging Gaming Markets – SBC Summit 2025 is putting Asia in the spotlight with its Emerging Markets conference track, offering delegates a deep dive into one of the world’s most dynamic gaming regions.

SBC Summit 2025: Asia Takes Center Stage

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) will host top industry experts as they unpack the challenges and opportunities in a market that generated over $18.3 billion last year. The day’s sessions will look at how companies can navigate Asia’s patchwork of regulations, what the future holds for India’s gaming industry, and whether the wider Asia-Pacific region is set to become the next big growth hub for global operators.

This will be the grand finale of three days on the Emerging Markets Stage. Day one is all about Africa, day two covers Eurasia and the Middle East and day three zeroes in on Asia.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC, emphasized the importance of the region: “If you’re building a global gaming business, you can’t afford to ignore Asia. This track makes it clear why the region belongs at the center of every long-term growth strategy.”

“Asia needs a platform where regulators, operators, suppliers, and investors can talk openly. SBC is proud to provide that space, and the Emerging Markets stage is the centerpiece of that effort.”

A Closer Look at Asian Regulation

The first session, Asia: Navigating Regulation, Opportunity and Uncertainty, will bring together Rory Anderson (Consultant, 12BET), Paul Fox (Chairman & Founder, Claymore Solutions), Lau Kok Keng (Head of Intellectual Property, Sports & Gaming, Rajah & Tan Singapore), and Yuta Romanchenko (CBDO, Big Idea), with Rosalind Wade (CEO, WinnaMedia) as moderator.

They’ll take a broad view of Asia’s diverse gaming landscape—from India’s growing alternative betting scene to Macau’s long-established land-based industry—and discuss which jurisdictions are most ready for investment.

India’s Gaming Future

India will also be in the spotlight with the panel India’s Regulatory Roadmap: The Next Decade for Gaming. The country’s unique mix of state-by-state laws and the legal distinction between games of skill and games of chance has created both opportunities and hurdles. While fantasy sports, lottery, and horse racing thrive, sports betting and online gaming remain largely restricted.

Speakers include Ranjana Adhikari (Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co Advocates & Solicitors), Anton Kaszubowski (Managing Director, SBC Advisory), and Japneet Singh Sethi (Chief Growth Officer – South Asia, iGaming NDA), who will debate whether meaningful regulation is on the horizon or if the grey market will continue to dominate.

The Philippines After POGOs

Another key session, Philippines: Life after POGOs, will explore the country’s shift from offshore operators (POGOs) to the new PIGOs. Panelists include Dominique Laconico (President & CEO, MegaBet+ & Scorebet), Keith McDonnell (Director, KMI Group), Joe Pisano (CEO, Jade Gaming), and Marie Antonette “Tonet” Quiogue (Principal, Arden Consult).

They’ll discuss whether this marks the Philippines’ evolution into Asia’s first fully regulated market, how PAGCOR’s role is evolving, what happens to the international audiences once served by POGOs, and what lessons other Asian markets can learn from this transition.

Global Market Insights

Beyond the Emerging Markets Stage, the Summit also features the Global Markets stage, which will highlight the most profitable regions for sports betting and iGaming worldwide. Across three days, experts will share strategies for entering and growing in Latin America & Brazil, Western Europe and North America.
