On July 17, 2025, Australia took another strong step to protect its people from illegal gambling websites. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) asked internet providers to block more offshore gambling platforms. This is part of their big plan to keep online betting safe and legal in the country.
More Sites Added to the Blocklist
This time, ACMA blocked websites like Best Aussie Pokies, winspirit.online, win-spirit.online, winspirit.team, and winspirit1.com. These are not small names many players had access to them. But since they were working without a proper license, ACMA stepped in to stop them.
This action is not new. Since November 2019, ACMA has blocked over 1,200 illegal gambling websites. The mission is simple if a betting site is not playing by the rules, it won’t be allowed in the Australian market.
Big Changes Since 2017
Back in 2017, Australia introduced stricter online gambling rules. These laws pushed around 220 unlicensed operators to leave the country. Since then, the government has kept a close eye on the gambling market, making sure that only trusted platforms remain.
Why These Blocks Matter
There is a big reason behind these website bans. Many of these offshore betting sites don’t care about player safety. They often miss out on basic rules that protect your money and data. So, when players use them, they could lose their money or fall into fraud traps.
That’s why Australian regulators are telling everyone only bet with licensed websites. These are safe, controlled, and follow strict rules made to protect you.
Australia Follows Europe’s Lead
Australia is not alone. Countries in Europe like Germany, the UK, and France are also blocking illegal gambling sites. The goal everywhere is the same keep online gambling safe, clean, and fair.
