The ESL Saudi Challenge was first launched in October 2024 by the ESL FACEIT Group. The tournament featured Overwatch 2 as its flagship title with a prize pool of $20,000, which attracted a massive audience and participation. The tournament was originally designed to give Saudi gamers a platform to showcase their intense gaming skills and enter international competitions. The first edition was won by Twisted Minds.
This year, the ESL Saudi Challenge is making a comeback with not one but two editions scheduled in May and December. The first edition of the event will start on 24 April, with qualifiers ending on 26 April, followed by a second round in May. Playoffs are scheduled for 7-8 May and 14-15 May, while the grand finale is set to take place on 30 May.
The ESL Saudi Challenge will be held at the VOV Gaming in Riyadh, and both editions will follow the same pattern as its inaugural edition, with Overwatch 2 as their flag and a massive prize pool of $20,000. The second edition of the event will take place in December.
