Ethan Makes History: First Two-Time Valorant Champion

The Valorant Champions Tour 2025 ended with a loud roar inside the Accor Arena in Paris, as NRG claimed the world title in a thrilling finale. The victory was not just another trophy for the Americas team it was history in the making. Ethan “Ethan” Arnold became the first player ever to win two Valorant world championships, cementing his name among the game’s greats.

Ethan Makes History: First Two-Time Valorant Champion

Two years ago, Ethan had lifted his first world title with Evil Geniuses at the 2023 Champions Los Angeles, defeating Paper Rex 3-1 in the grand final. Now, in 2025, he repeated that success under NRG’s banner, proving his consistency, leadership, and unmatched game sense.

NRG’s victory also marked the third time an Americas team has won the Champions title in the last five years, showing the region’s strong presence in global Valorant competition.

After the win, Ethan shared his emotions online, writing, “2x World Champion. This means the world to me. Couldn’t have done it without these guys.” He also congratulated teammate Brock “brawk” Somerhalder, who was named the tournament’s MVP, and appreciated Fnatic for an intense and hard-fought final.

NRG Ends Fnatic’s Comeback Dream

Fnatic came into the finals determined, especially with Emir “Alfajer” Ali Beder returning to the roster just in time for the last weekend. But their momentum wasn’t enough to stop NRG’s domination. NRG had already defeated Fnatic 2-0 in the upper bracket final (14-12 Ascent, 13-5 Abyss), sending them down to the lower bracket.

Fnatic bounced back by defeating DRX 3-1 in the lower-bracket final, earning a rematch against NRG. The stage was set for an explosive grand final.

In the best-of-five series, NRG started strong, taking a 2-0 lead with comfortable wins on Corrode (13-3) and Lotus (13-6). But Fnatic refused to give up. They made an incredible comeback on Abyss, overturning an 11–1 deficit to win 15-13 after double overtime. Then, on Ascent, they carried that energy forward, securing a 13-8 win to tie the series 2-2.

With everything on the line, the final map on Sunset became the decider. NRG dominated the first half 9-3 and didn’t give Fnatic any chance to recover. They closed out the map 13-5, winning the grand final 3-2 and lifting the Champions Paris trophy.

A New Era for Valorant

This victory not only confirmed Ethan’s legendary status but also showcased NRG’s teamwork and adaptability. From tactical coordination to flawless executions, NRG showed what modern Valorant looks like at its best.

As the 2025 season ends, one thing is clear Valorant esports is entering a new era, where experience and data-driven strategies meet raw talent. And for Ethan “Ethan” Arnold, this win wasn’t just another title. It was a statement that greatness can be repeated, and history can be written twice.
