Just days before launch, Forza Horizon 6 has reportedly leaked online after game files connected to the PC version appeared on Steam earlier than expected.
The situation started gaining attention over the weekend when users on Reddit and other gaming forums claimed that pre-download files for the game had become accessible through Steam. Soon after, screenshots, clips, and reports about a playable build began spreading online.
According to those reports, the leaked files were connected to Steam pre-load data that may not have been encrypted properly before release. Some users also pointed out that the files briefly appeared through SteamDB, which tracks updates and changes on Steam’s backend.
So far, neither Microsoft nor Playground Games have publicly addressed the leak.
The timing is awkward considering how close the game is to launch. Forza Horizon 6 officially arrives on May 19 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, while players who bought the Premium Edition can jump in early starting May 15.
Despite the leak, excitement around the game still feels huge. The Horizon series has become one of the most popular racing franchises in gaming over the last decade, and this new entry is already being described as the biggest one yet.

Japan Finally Becomes The Forza Horizon 6’s New Playground
One of the main reasons fans have been waiting for this game is the setting. After years of speculation, Forza Horizon 6 finally takes the series to Japan.
The game’s map reportedly includes major city areas inspired by Tokyo, along with mountain roads, countryside regions, and seasonal weather changes spread across the world. Playground Games has also confirmed that this will be the largest open-world map the series has ever had.
New gameplay systems are being added too. Players will be able to attend Car Meets, customize personal Estates, and expand properties while progressing through the game. Forza Horizon games have always mixed arcade racing with exploration and social features, and it looks like the new entry with Forza Horizon 6 is pushing even harder in that direction.
The game will also launch on Game Pass from day one, which means millions of players could access it immediately once servers go live. A PlayStation 5 release is planned later this year as well, making it one of the widest launches in franchise history.
Leaks before launch are unfortunately common in gaming now, especially with large digital pre-loads, but this situation still caught many people by surprise because of how close the release date is.
For now, fans are trying to avoid spoilers online while waiting for the official launch later this month.
