In just two weeks, game makers from around the world will gather in Riga, Latvia, for the first-ever iGaming Studio Summit 2025. Taking place on 6–7 August at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Daugava Riga, this two-day event is more than just another industry meetup. It’s designed as a hands-on space for studios to sharpen their edge, blending creativity, smart tech, and real conversations about where the industry is heading.
Brought to you by Eventus International, the summit puts the spotlight on the real engine of the iGaming world: the studios creating tomorrow’s best games. Whether you’re part of a top-tier studio already scaling globally or an ambitious newcomer looking to break into new markets, this summit is built to give you actionable ideas and fresh inspiration.
Over two focused days, the event will dive into the latest tools and tactics that are helping studios stand out, from AI-driven personalisation and immersive VR to smarter data strategies that improve retention, monetisation, and player engagement.
What You’ll Learn:
- How studios are building top teams during a tough global talent crunch
- New approaches to game design, mixing VR, AR, and multiplayer to keep players coming back
- A step-by-step guide to handling the EU AI Act, tailored for iGaming suppliers
- Balancing growth with data privacy and trust, as rules tighten across regions
Unlike your usual buzzword-filled conference, this one promises real-world insights from people who are already making things happen and ready to share what’s working for them.
Don’t Miss This Keynote:
One of the standout voices at the upcoming summit will be Dainis Niedra, COO of Entain. He’ll be diving into how gamification, data-led strategies, and a player-first approach are redefining player engagement across the iGaming space.
In a recent conversation, Dainis reflected on some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing operators today. When asked how companies can balance fun and responsibility, especially across a range of regulatory markets, he emphasized that both can, and should, work together.
“Any healthy and sustainable business should have a robust responsible gambling framework that sits on top of all other processes, including marketing communications, compliance, and HVC player management,” he said.
He believes that gamification, when applied with care and professionalism, “can enhance player engagement and increase LTV, especially among low- and mid-value segments.”
Dainis elaborated further: “I believe that professional, thoughtful gamification is a powerful tool in helping operators reach one of their most important goals: building a more recreational player base and reducing dependence on high-value players. And that, ultimately, leads to lower risk for responsible gambling concerns.”
Shifting to retention, Dainis encouraged operators to dig deeper than surface metrics.
“Currently, most strategies focus heavily on successful player actions,” he explained, “but there’s an entire layer of untapped value in analysing unsuccessful or abandoned actions.”
He points to missed opportunities – such as games browsed but never played, or unclaimed bonuses — as data signals that can lead to smarter retention efforts.
“Yes, working with this type of data is more complex,” he admits, “but if done well, it can unlock an entirely new layer of value for retention marketing – making communications smarter, more relevant, and far more effective.”
Touching on immersive environments, he offered a design warning: more isn’t always better.
“Less is more. Engagement doesn’t always equal retention,” he explained. The goal, he said, is to create engaging, well-balanced gamified environments – ones that are stimulating without being chaotic, rewarding without manipulation.
When asked about predictive analytics and its role in gamification, Dainis stressed that it still starts with solid groundwork.
“It’s the day-to-day, often unglamorous work with data — analysing behaviour, refining segments, reviewing lifecycle communications.” He explained that no extra precaution is necessary if the fundamentals are respected. “A solid foundation is key.”
Wrapping up, Dainis reflected on player expectations shaped by popular media and digital services. Simplicity, relevance, and local appeal are essential.
“Everything needs to work fast, feel effortless, and be tailored to a specific market and individual player,” he said. “Only then do we stand a real chance of competing for attention.”
