Malaysian Telco First: Tune Talk Integrates Streaming And Gaming In-App

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 May 2025 – Tune Talk, one of Asia’s fastest-growing cloud-enabled telco, has launched Games and Drama inside the Tune Talk App, becoming the first telecom company in Malaysia to offer streaming and gaming features fully within its app.

With this new update, users can now watch dramas, play games, and earn rewards all in one place with no extra downloads or logins needed. The feature is fully built into the app and designed to turn mobile usage from ordinary to an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

The move comes as mobile entertainment becomes increasingly important in users’ daily lives. A recent Digital 2025: Malaysia report by DataReportal shows that 97.7% of Malaysians are internet users, and there are 43.3 million mobile connections in the country, more than the total population. These numbers show how ready Malaysians are for smart, app-based entertainment services.

To mark the launch, all Tune Talk users will get one month of free access starting from the rollout date. After that, the Drama section will be available for Epik 50+ subscribers, while Games will be open to both Epik 50+ and Epik 35+ subscribers.

“This is just the beginning,” said Gurtaj Singh Padda, Co-founder, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tune Talk.

“We are not just concerned about how people connect seamlessly; we are also changing what they can do with that connection. With our entertainment hub packed with games and drama, we’re turning the mobile experience into something fun, interactive, and personal for everyone, while also doing our part for the nation by making entertainment easily accessible to the underserved.”

The new hub is simple to use. Users can stream a handpicked list of drama series on the go, and enjoy casual games that don’t require downloads. Every time someone watches or plays, they earn Tune Talk Points. These points can be used to unlock premium content, skip ads, or get special rewards all from the same app.

Shawn Lim, Head of Marketing at Tune Talk, said:
“The entertainment hub transforms everyday connectivity into richer, more rewarding experiences. We have listened to our users, they want more engaging content, less friction, and seamless access. So, we delivered exactly that, straight into the app they already use every day.”

This experience is made possible through a strong partnership with Jolibox, a top cloud entertainment platform known for its seamless streaming and game delivery technology. Jolibox is the main content partner for both Games and Drama on the Tune Talk App.

Jiayuan Mao, Director, Global Partnership at Jolibox, said:
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Tune Talk to bring this innovative experience to life. At Jolibox, our mission is to redefine how people access and enjoy digital entertainment. By embedding our platform directly within the Tune Talk App, we’re breaking down barriers and making it easier than ever for Malaysians to watch, play, and be rewarded – all in one place.”

This launch supports Tune Talk’s bigger goal of becoming a lifestyle-first telco, using cloud technology to offer real value to modern mobile users. Now, whether you’re watching or playing, you can get more from the things you already love anytime, anywhere.
