What is the Smash Rule? Day 3’s Unique Twist
The PMWC 2025 features a huge prize pool of 3 million USD, which is over ₹25.5 crore. The Grand Finals include 18 matches in total, spread over three days, with six matches played each day.
Day 3 comes with a special rule called the Smash Rule:
- A team must first reach the Match Point Target, which is the current top team’s total points plus 10 extra points.
- After reaching that target, the team must win any of the remaining matches on Day 3 to become the champion.
- Just reaching the target and winning the same match won’t be enough. They need to hit the target first, then win a match after that.
- If no team manages to win under the Smash Rule, the team with the most total points after all 18 matches will be crowned champion in the usual way.
It’s shaping up to be an exciting finish, so make sure to tune in.
