PUBG Mobile Esports 2025: Roadmap And Major Events

The world of PUBG Mobile Esports has stood the test of time, surviving challenges and evolving into a massive global competition. After an action-packed 2024 season, PUBG Mobile has officially announced the roadmap for 2025. This year’s esports calendar promises more excitement, bigger tournaments, and expanded opportunities for players. Let’s take a closer look at what’s coming in the PUBG Mobile Esports 2025 season.

PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) 2025

One of the first major events in the 2025 esports season will be the PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO). According to PUBG Mobile’s Senior Director of Global Esports, James Yang, over 100,000 players from 150+ countries have signed up to compete in this season’s events.

PMGO 2025 will introduce the Smash Rule, a new format that can change the way teams win. If a team earns over 80 points in a set number of matches, they only need one Chicken Dinner to secure the championship. If no team wins under the Smash Rule, the highest-scoring team after 12 matches will be declared the winner.

Teams Invited Directly to PMGO 2025:

  • Nigma Galaxy
  • 4Merical Vibes
  • Regnum Carya Esports
  • Influence Rage
  • Vietnam D’Xavier
  • Nongshim Redforce
  • REJECT

One additional team will receive a special invitation from the PEL (Peace Elite League). The rest of the competing teams will qualify through the Prelims stage.

Teams Competing in the Prelims Stage:

  • NEPX Esports
  • Trained 2 Kill
  • Xotics Esports
  • KZE Underage
  • iKurd Esports
  • R8 Esports
  • K21 Esports
  • Fenerbahçe Esports
  • VatanGame Esports
  • Goat Quality
  • Dope Esports
  • Action Esports

Additionally, four teams from Uzbekistan will join after placing second to fifth in the Uzbekistan Finals. The PMGO Grand Finals will take place in Tashkent from April 9 to 13, 2025.

PUBG Mobile National Championships & Super League

The PUBG Mobile National Championships and the Super League will now feature open qualifiers. This change is part of PUBG Mobile’s plan to provide new players with more chances to enter professional esports. The goal is to create a clear path for rising teams to advance from national competitions to international tournaments.

To make this easier, PUBG Mobile is splitting the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) into five major regions:

  • Southeast Asia
  • CSA (China, South Asia)
  • Americas
  • Europe (EU)
  • MENA (Middle East & North Africa)

Additionally, PUBG Mobile will introduce 29 amateur qualifier events for the PMSL and the PMCL (PUBG Mobile Challenger League), which is a huge opportunity for grassroots teams.

PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2025

The PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring a $3,000,000 prize pool.

Tournament Format:

  • Group Stage: 24 teams compete over 3 days.
  • Survivor Stage: The bottom 16 teams from the Group Stage get a second chance in a 2-day elimination round.
  • Grand Finals: The top 8 teams from the Group Stage and top 8 from the Survivor Stage compete over 3 days for the championship.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025

The final and biggest event of the year will be the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025. This event will feature 38 teams competing for the ultimate title. While seven teams will receive direct invites, there is still no confirmation on which teams will be selected.

Many fans are curious whether teams from Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) will get a chance to compete this year. If they do, it will be a huge moment for Indian esports.
