If you’ve been on the fence about getting Discord Nitro, this might finally push you over. Discord has added Xbox Game Pass to its Nitro subscription, and the price hasn’t gone up at all. You’re getting more for the same money.
So What Is Nitro Rewards?
Discord announced a new programme called Nitro Rewards on May 11, 2026, as part of Nitro’s 10th anniversary. Instead of just being a platform for custom emojis and better audio quality, Nitro now comes with actual gaming perks including a Game Pass bundle, hardware discounts, and platform rewards.
Lu Zhang, who heads Product at Discord, put it simply: your Nitro subscription costs the same, and Game Pass is now part of it. That’s the whole pitch, and honestly it’s a pretty good one.
Funny enough, this wasn’t a complete surprise. Weeks before the announcement, people digging through Discord’s GitHub files had already found references to something called “Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition,” a 50-game library, and a 10-hour cloud gaming allowance. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma also hinted at it back on April 22, and when she did, Discord replied to her post with just one word: “Soon.”
Now it’s here for real.
What Games Do You Actually Get?
The starter library has more than 50 PC and console games. Some of the names in there are genuinely good Stardew Valley, Hades, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Grounded, Fable, DayZ, DOOM Eternal, Dishonored 2, Gears of War 5, and Cities: Skylines are all confirmed. It’s not a throwaway list of random titles.
You also get 10 hours of cloud gaming every month, which means you can stream games on different devices without downloading anything. That’s useful if you want to try something out without committing to a full install. Discord says more games will be added to the catalogue going forward.
Game Pass Also Got Cheaper on Its Own
On top of all this, Microsoft recently cut Game Pass prices across the board. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate went from $29.99 down to $22.99 a month. PC Game Pass dropped from $16.49 to $13.99. Those are separate changes Microsoft made independently.
One catch though new Call of Duty games at launch are no longer part of Game Pass. If you want those on day one, you’ll have to buy them separately.
For Nitro subscribers, none of that takes away from the deal. At $9.99 a month, you’re now getting Discord’s features plus a gaming subscription in one payment.
There Are Hardware Deals Too
Xbox Game Pass is the big headline, but Nitro Rewards also brings in discounts on gaming gear. Nitro members get up to 30% off Logitech G products, 15% off SteelSeries, and 20% off KontrolFreek accessories. That covers headsets, mice, keyboards, and controller add-ons. Discord says the partner brands will change over time.
There’s also a bonus for people who use Discord’s Shop. Nitro subscribers now automatically get 250 Orbs every month just for staying subscribed, plus a multiplier on Orbs earned through Quests. Those Orbs go toward profile cosmetics and other in-platform stuff.
When Can You Get It?
It’s rolling out right now through the Nitro Home section inside Discord. Not everyone will see it at the same time it’s going out in waves over the coming weeks. But you don’t need to do anything special. If you have an active Nitro membership, it’ll show up for you.
For ten years, Nitro was basically a cosmetics and communication upgrade. With Nitro Rewards, Discord is turning it into something that looks a lot more like a full gaming membership. Considering Discord is already the place most gamers hang out anyway, it makes a lot of sense.
