If you’ve been trying to unlock the Black Reaper fighting style in Sailor Piece, you’ve probably already heard about the Reaper Key. It’s one of those items that sounds simple to get at first, but once you actually start farming for it, you realize the grind can take a while if you don’t know what you’re doing.
A lot of players end up searching the wrong islands or fighting random enemies hoping the key will eventually drop. Unfortunately, the game is much more specific than that.
The Reaper Key only comes from one area, and getting there takes a bit of preparation first.
Where the Reaper Key actually drops in Sailor Piece
To start farming Reaper Keys, you need access to Sea 2. Players still progressing through the early parts of the game won’t be able to get the item yet, so reaching Sea 2 is the first big requirement.
After that, you’ll also need to complete the Blood Flowers questline because it unlocks Isolation Island, which is the only place where Reaper Keys currently drop.
Once you finally reach the island, the enemies you want to farm are the Ghoul Members. These NPCs have a chance to drop the Reaper Key after defeat, although the drop rate is fairly low since the item counts as a legendary rarity drop.
That means you’ll probably be there for a while unless your build is designed for farming efficiently.
The easiest way to improve your drop chances
Since the Reaper Key in Sailor Piece is rare, luck stats matter more than usual here. Running titles, runes, or bonuses that improve luck can genuinely save you a huge amount of time over long farming sessions.
Players farming efficiently also tend to use fast hitting weapons or abilities instead of slow heavy damage builds. Gilgamesh V has become one of the more popular choices because it clears groups quickly and works well with auto farming setups.
The goal is basically to defeat as many Ghoul Members as possible in the shortest amount of time. Auto skills also help a lot if you’re planning to grind for multiple keys instead of just one. Considering higher difficulty versions of the Black Reaper boss require more keys, farming extras early is usually worth doing.
What the Reaper Key is used for
The Reaper Key in Sailor Piece only has one major purpose right now, but it’s an important one. It’s used to summon the Black Reaper boss.
That boss drops materials needed for the Black Reaper melee style, which is why so many players are currently farming keys nonstop. If you’re trying to upgrade your build or unlock stronger combat options, eventually you’ll probably need to start this grind too.
And honestly, compared to some other late game farming methods in Sailor Piece, this one is more about patience than difficulty. Once your setup is good enough, it mostly becomes a matter of repeating the process until the drops finally start appearing.
So if you’ve been struggling to find Reaper Keys in Sailor Piece, make sure you’re farming the right enemies on Isolation Island and running as much luck boosting gear as possible. It won’t make the grind instant, but it definitely makes it less painful.
