Rainbow Six Siege X, the latest iteration of Ubisoft’s tactical shooter, will hold its EWC 2026 tournament from August 4-14. Eleven days. Two million dollars. Twenty-two teams. “Siege has been one of the most supported competitive games in esports over the past several years and this tournament is a product of that continued investment.”
Rainbow Six Siege X
Siege X is Ubisoft’s remastered version of Rainbow Six Siege, updating the visuals and gameplay of a game that has been played competitively since 2015. Gameplay still features one-sided maps, one-hit kills, and mechanics that reward teams with a deep knowledge of the game. Siege X is bringing a new presentation and a few mechanical tweaks that the community has asked for.
The transition to Siege X has been a reset point for the competitive scene generating renewed interest. New tournaments, new coverage, and a new identity for a game that was already firmly entrenched in the competitive scene.
Teams and Regions
Team Secret have confirmed . The NAL North American League is sending four teams. The SAL South American League adds four more. EML European Major League brings four European teams. Four from Asia-Pacific to APL. CN has entered four Chinese teams for the 2026 qualifiers. A MENA Qualifier takes the last place. A total of twenty-two teams from real world competition.
The regional balance of Siege has historically led to some interesting international matchups, as the playstyles that evolve within each region’s circuit are different. “European teams are very methodical and structured in their set-ups. North American teams tend to combine some strategic discipline with individual mechanical confidence. Asian teams have created specific tactical approaches that can surprise other regions. You get the sort of matchups that make an international tournament when these styles clash on a neutral stage in Paris.

Why Siege Works as an Esport
Siege is one of those games where the spectator mode is important. A professional broadcast shows you angles and information through the camera work that makes the Strategic complexity of what is happening legible. You can see where the defender is, how the attacker is trying to break through, what gadget play is being setup and why a particular decision worked or failed. Add that clarity to the one-shot kill system that creates constant tension and you have some compelling TV.
Paris, 11 days, 4–14 August. Twenty-two teams, two million dollars. EWC 2026 gives Siege fans what they want. Anyone who wants to see what top-level tactical shooter esports looks like.
