CrossFire will be at EWC 2026 August 17-21. Sixteen teams. $2 million. If you’re not familiar with CrossFire you’re not alone outside of Asia and a few select markets, the game doesn’t have the visibility that CS2 or Valorant has. CrossFire is huge in its markets and the competitive scene around it has been alive and well for over a decade.
What is crossfire ?
CrossFire is an FPS game released by smilegate in 2007, this game had a huge audience in South Korea, China and Vietnam. The numbers surrounding CrossFire are absolutely staggering at its peak it had over a billion registered accounts and made more money than any other online game in the world for a number of years running. That scale is downscaled to its popularity in Asian markets, where it has been a staple of PC gaming culture for nearly two decades.
CrossFire Stars is the competitive version of the professional game CrossFire. It has its own league structure with CFPL in China, CFVL in Vietnam and CFBL and CFWL covering other areas. These leagues have been playing organised competition for years with established fan bases and professional organisations invested in the game.
AG.AL International and the Field
AG.AL International confirm top spot and other teams come from the CFPL, CFVL, CFBL and CFWL regional standings, with two more spots for SEA Masters Summer qualifiers. A total of sixteen teams from the CrossFire competitive ecosystem, the best active rosters in a game that has been churning out competitive players for a long time now, far longer than most esports titles.
The team that wins here has beaten teams that have been playing competitive Crossfire at a professional level for years.” The names may be unfamiliar to those outside of the game’s primary markets but the level of game knowledge and tactical preparation in this realm is very real.

The Importance of CrossFire’s EWC
CrossFire’s presence in EWC is a genuine effort to highlight the global esports scene and not just the games that are popular in western markets. Asian esports has its own ecosystem, its own games, its own stars and its own massive audiences. Crossfire is part of that ecosystem and bringing a two million dollar tournament to the EWC stage recognises that.
August 17-21, five days. $2 million. 16 teams. For those that want to see the bigger picture of competitive gaming around the world, CrossFire at EWC 2026 is a window into a scene that most people outside of Asia haven’t had much reason to venture into until now.
