iGaming aggregation platform Alea has tapped FIRST.bet as its exclusive sportsbook technology partner, adding sports betting to its growing product offering.
The partnership will allow operators working with Alea to access FIRST.bet’s sportsbook technology alongside the company’s existing casino-focused products. The move follows demand from Alea’s operator network for sportsbook services alongside casino content.
Game aggregation remains at the centre of Alea’s business, but the company has gradually expanded beyond that core offering. Its portfolio now includes Alea Jackpot, Alea Pay and a sweepstakes catalogue, with sportsbook becoming the latest addition.
Why Alea Chose FIRST.bet for Sportsbook
Alea has chosen to work with one sportsbook provider rather than bringing several suppliers into its network. Under the exclusive partnership with FIRST.bet, the supplier will provide the sportsbook technology behind Alea’s new offering.
FIRST.bet says its sportsbook solution focuses on localisation, trading and player engagement. These capabilities are intended to help operators tailor their sportsbook experience to different markets rather than using the same approach everywhere.
The decision also fits with Alea’s wider effort to bring casino and sports betting closer together. Alea Founder Alexandre Tomic has previously discussed the relationship between the two verticals. During SBC Summit Malta 2026, he highlighted the importance of a user-friendly experience when operators try to introduce sports bettors to casino games such as slots.
More recently, Tomic explained that Alea’s move into sportsbook was largely driven by requests from clients. Speaking about the decision to work with FIRST.bet, he said:
“For a lot of operators, casino and sportsbook already sit side by side, and we were seeing clear demand for the service. Players are moving between those experiences much more naturally too, so choosing the right company to build this with was important. FIRST.bet is the Tier-1 sportsbook technology provider, with a strong product and a lot of expertise in the space. They understand the market very well, and from the beginning we felt there was a strong fit between what they do and where we’re taking Alea.”
Tomic’s comments show that sportsbook is not being treated as a separate addition to Alea’s business. Instead, it forms part of the company’s effort to give operators access to a broader range of products through the same ecosystem.
What FIRST.bet Brings to the Partnership
FIRST.bet is a B2B sportsbook technology provider offering software and services for sports betting operators. Its role in the Alea partnership will be to provide the technology and trading expertise behind the sportsbook offering.
According to the company, operators can choose between a fully managed sportsbook and SportOS, its API-based sportsbook engine. SportOS gives operators more control over the front-end betting experience while FIRST.bet handles functions such as pricing, trading, risk, settlements and sportsbook logic.
FIRST.bet has also been expanding its technology partnerships during 2026. In July, FIRST.bet integrated its sportsbook with Pragmatic Solutions, making its sportsbook engine, trading stack, risk management and managed services available through the Pragmatic Solutions Player Account Management platform.
The supplier also operates across markets in Europe and Latin America. According to FIRST.bet’s regulatory information, First Interactive Limited holds a B2B Critical Gaming Supply licence from the Malta Gaming Authority, while Trudata Core Limited holds a Swedish permit from Spelinspektionen to manufacture, supply, install and modify gaming software.
FIRST.bet also states that its technology is GLI-33 certified and ISO-audited.
What the Deal Means for Alea Operators
For operators already working with Alea, the practical impact of the partnership is straightforward: sportsbook can now become part of the wider range of products they access through Alea.
The arrangement also allows Alea to enter sports betting without having to build an entire sportsbook platform internally. FIRST.bet will provide the specialist sportsbook technology and trading capabilities, while Alea can continue to focus on aggregation and its wider product ecosystem.
Tom Light, Founder and CEO of FIRST.bet, linked the agreement directly to Alea’s gradual expansion beyond its original aggregation business.
Light said:
“Alea’s operators trust the platform for a good reason, and it shows in how deliberately the company has grown, from aggregation into jackpot and payments. Sportsbook is the next step in that story, and we’re proud FIRST.bet is the one building it with them. Their operators are getting a sportsbook built for the markets they actually operate in.”
The partnership therefore represents another stage in Alea’s broader product strategy. The company has moved from game aggregation into areas including payments, jackpots and sweepstakes, and sportsbook now adds another major vertical to that offering.
With FIRST.bet serving as its exclusive sportsbook partner, Alea can expand what it offers operators while keeping game aggregation at the heart of its business. For its operator network, the deal brings casino and sports betting closer together within the same wider product ecosystem.
