I have played Hero Wars for about a month now, and while it started as a fun, engaging game, my experience has quickly shifted. The lower level is exciting and rewarding. Daily quests give decent rewards and your heroes and titans level up quickly. But as you get to the higher levels, the game starts to slow down and become repetitive.

Progress is like climbing a mountain in flip flops. It takes weeks, sometimes months, to gather the soul stones or fragments to upgrade your heroes. And with all the heroes to work on, it feels never-ending. Unless you’re paying actual cash for bundles and events, levelling up is painfully tedious.

At first I thought, “Well, game developers have to make money right? But, over the years, I’ve learned the game doesn’t actually care about your experience as a player. It seems like it was designed to keep you frustrated and insecure enough that you will spend more money.
Hero Wars Here’s an example:
There is a common glitch when you fight manually in dungeons, guild wars or Outland. You may get hit with a “battle processing error” after winning a tough battle, and your win won’t count. You will have to start over and fight again wasting your time and energy. Sometimes it glitches a few times in a row. I called support and they just gave me the normal troubleshooting. It is frustrating because I keep my game updated and it is clearly an issue on their end. But they won’t fix it.
It feels like the game is trying to get you to spend more money so you can beat opponents and not have to do manual battling. What’s the fun in that?

The in-game support is not much better. Every time I have contacted them responses are robotic. Raymond. He’s no help. More often than not, they don’t even recognise the problem and say, “We’ll pass your feedback on to the development team.” I accidentally made an in-game purchase recently because the buttons were poorly placed. I asked for my money back, and was refused on some vague rule about random rewards. It felt like an excuse not to help me.

These poorly placed buttons make it easy to fuck up and spend emeralds. It’s hard not to think that’s the way they’re designed on purpose. Instead of feeling like a valued customer, the game makes you feel like a child that has to follow arbitrary rules.
Hero Wars has potential, but its system of exploiting players through frustration and manipulation is not sustainable. Most players quit early on, and the ones who stay either love their guild, or feel stuck because they’ve invested so much. The majority will eventually figure out that they aren’t getting enough value and move on.

No doubt the game’s graphics are realistic, but they have work to do on their game missions, audio and help section.
I hope they will read this review article soon and try to improve the game and bring it to the people in a better way.
