How To Use The New Valorant Replay System

The long-awaited Replay system has finally arrived in Valorant, and players can now watch their matches again to study every detail. This new feature makes it possible to see gameplay from different angles, review mistakes, and even enjoy highlights after the game is over. While not perfect, it is still a big step forward for the game.

How to Watch Valorant Replays

After finishing a match, players will see a Replay icon on the Career page. By clicking on it, the Replay file can be downloaded and then opened inside the game. Once loaded, you can rewatch the full match at your own pace.

Replay Features You Can Use

The Replay tool gives plenty of options. You can watch from the view of any of the ten players or switch to a free camera. The speed can be slowed down to 0.1x or sped up to 8x. Rounds can be skipped, or you can jump directly to key moments like kills or ultimate uses shown on the timeline.

Other settings allow you to show or hide outlines for friendly and enemy players, follow projectiles, enable or disable the minimap, and turn the HUD on or off. You can also open the combat report at any time. All of these can be adjusted from the Viewing tab in the settings.

Modes That Support Replays

Currently, Replays are available in Unrated, Competitive, Swiftplay, and Premier. The option is missing from Custom games, which many players feel is a drawback. Riot has said they will continue listening to feedback to improve the system in the future.

Can Replays Be Shared?

At the moment, Valorant Replays cannot be shared with other players. They can only be downloaded and watched on your own client.

What Is Not Included in Replays

Some elements are not part of the Replay system. Cosmetic actions like sprays or weapon inspections are not recorded. The shop phase before each round, as well as text and voice chat, are also not available.

Known Issues in the Replay System

There are a few limitations players should know. For example, Fog of War does not fully apply to minimaps, so some hidden info can still be seen. Ability maps, like Brimstone’s smokes or Cypher’s Trapwire preview, do not appear during placement in Replays. Only after the abilities are deployed do they show correctly.

Why This Feature Matters

For casual players, this system is fun for reliving exciting plays. For competitive players, it is a valuable tool to review team strategies and improve gameplay. Even though it has some flaws, the Replay system will likely become a key feature for the Valorant community.

Adding features like Custom game support or the ability to share clips could make it even better in the future. But as it stands, Riot has finally given players a way to study matches properly, which is something fans have been asking for since the game’s release.
