Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 3 has dropped us on a new island, and that means the old drop-spot meta is out the window. If you’re looking to hit a match with a real advantage, here are the places you’ll want to drop into for the runner’s season, whether it’s mythic gear, a quiet spot to loot in peace, or a fight right off the bat.
A quick note here: this list is one player’s opinion of the best spots right now, so don’t be afraid to mix it with your own experience as you get a feel for the new map.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Best Landing Spots: Top Drop Locations
1. Frosted Flats
Frosted Flats is looking to be one of the hottest drops on the new map, mostly due to the Epic Sprite Vault underneath here. To get inside, you’ll need an Epic Sprite Vault keycard, which you can find in Rare chests hidden around the area. Inside, you will be greeted with a nice selection of top weapons and some Rare Sprites you can equip immediately. Get ready to fight for that vault access; this spot gets contested fast.
2. Sinister Strip
Sinister Strip is the other location with an Epic Sprite Vault, and the rules are the same here – pick up a keycard from a Rare chest and then head underground to find rare weapons and Sprites.
But the real magic of this place comes from the Mythic Seven Sliders’ mobility boots locked up in an underground prison cell. There’s a lot of good loot between the vault and the boots, and it’s all in one area, so early fights are basically a given. If you got a good shot and don’t mind a rough start, drop in here.
3. Canyon Calamari
If you’re not into puzzles and vault keys and just want to punch your way to mythic gear, Calamari Canyon is the place to be. Two bosses, Wolfe and Skeletor, patrol the area, and defeating either of them will give you a Mythic weapon.
There’s plenty of regular floor loot here to get you geared up before you get started and you’ll find John Wick lurking around as an NPC you can recruit before taking on the bosses. It’s a simple, no-nonsense way to get out early with top-tier gear.
4. Heatwave Harbour
Heatwave Harbour is a sprawling residential zone teeming with loot and Sprites, making it a solid choice if you’re after a strong start without jumping into a firefight straight away. This area also has the Voidblade boss, and whoever takes her down will receive a Mythic weapon.
Also check out the secret Mythic Duck Race here. It’s a fun secret event where you can get items of varying rarities, including a chance to get a Mythic weapon. Heatwave Harbour is ideal for players who like to quietly loot up before engaging anyone, with so many buildings to duck into for cover.
5. Bus Station
The Bus Stop is just easy from Lifty Lodge and is one of those hidden gems more players should be hitting up. There are two houses joined together, by the way, by a battle bus, and both houses are full of loot. There’s also a normal vault here that you can crack open with a normal vault key.
It’s an unmarked location that hardly ever shows up on anyone’s radar, so you can usually loot up here without being bothered at all. If you want a peaceful, no-combat intro with some nice gear for it, this is the place to remember.
Whatever you choose, the new Chapter 7 map is rewarding for a bit of exploration, so don’t be afraid to branch out from this list once you’ve got a feel for the runner’s season.
