Ireland And Belgium Boost Gambling Regulation

The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) has taken a big step by signing an official agreement with the Belgian Gaming Commission. This agreement is called a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and will help both countries work better together on gambling regulation.

A New Partnership of Both Countries

GRAI CEO Anne Marie Caulfield signed this agreement, and she was accompanied by Belgian Gaming Commission President Magali Clavie. The main goals of this MoU are:

  • To share information
  • To support regulations
  • To do better monitoring with the help of each other

Caulfield said:

“This MoU is a very important step to build a strong working relationship between Irish and Belgian gambling regulators. We thank the Belgian team for their support.”

Belgian Commission provided great support

When Ireland’s GRAI was starting, Belgium guided them in the setup process. They explained how to build a strong regulatory system.

This agreement is just the beginning. GRAI is also planning to form further partnerships with the European Union’s regulators. This will allow all regulators to solve common problems together.

  • Cross-border trust is being built – which will allow strong action to be taken against illegal gambling and bad practices.
  • In the future, it will be easier to handle technology-based gambling problems when regulators work together.
  • GRAI’s goal is to create a safe gambling environment in Europe by working together.
  • This MoU is an example of how international cooperation can make gambling responsible.
