Saracen Casino Hotel: A New Era For Pine Bluff

The Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, has celebrated a significant moment in the construction of its new 14-story hotel. A topping-off ceremony, where the final steel beam is placed, marked the completion of the building’s outer structure. The hotel, slated to open in fall 2025, reached this crucial stage with local officials, community members, and the construction team gathering to watch as the last beam was put in place. This achievement brings the resort one step closer to offering an extended experience for its guests.

This topping-off ceremony signals that the hotel has reached its maximum height and exterior work is complete. The project will now focus on the interior, where detailed work will shape the rooms, event spaces, and amenities. Wena Supernaw, who chairs the Business Committee of the Quapaw Nation, which owns the casino, highlighted this milestone, saying it allows them to move on to the more intricate, behind-the-scenes work inside the hotel.

Economic Growth and More Opportunities for the Community

The new hotel will feature 320 rooms and a large event center, big enough to accommodate 1,600 people. This expansion is expected to draw more visitors to Pine Bluff, boosting tourism and bringing economic benefits to the local community. Since Saracen Casino’s opening in 2020, the Quapaw Nation’s $500 million investment has already brought jobs and economic revitalization to the area. Carlton Saffa, the Chief Market Officer at Saracen Casino Resort, emphasized that the hotel will be an extra draw for guests. “People love our sports bar, our table games, and our poker room,” he said. “The hotel will give them even more reason to visit.”

Saffa also noted that most of Saracen’s customers come from outside Jefferson County, with many traveling from Little Rock and beyond. With the new hotel, visitors from further away will now have the option to stay overnight, allowing them to spend more time at the resort. Saffa expects this will particularly appeal to guests from nearby states like Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Strong Community Support for Saracen Casino’s Growth

Pine Bluff’s city leaders and residents have warmly embraced Saracen Casino’s growth. Supernaw shared her gratitude for the support from local leaders, including Mayor Shirley Washington and the city council. “The community here has been so welcoming, and we are grateful for their kindness and support,” she noted.

Unlike other areas in Arkansas where casino projects have faced opposition, Pine Bluff’s community has shown unity and enthusiasm for the casino’s expansion. Saffa commented on this positive reception, mentioning that the casino has brought nearly a thousand jobs and substantial investments to Pine Bluff. “Pine Bluff has welcomed us with open arms,” he said, highlighting the community’s supportive role in the casino’s success.

As the new hotel continues to take shape, Saracen Casino Resort is set to bring even more excitement, economic opportunities, and community growth to Pine Bluff and beyond.
