VCT Pacific Stage One had 12 teams. These teams first played in the group stage. RRQ did very well there and came first in their group. Because of this, they directly entered the second round of the upper bracket in playoffs.
In that round, RRQ defeated DRX and reached the upper bracket final against Gen G. However, Gen G beat RRQ easily with a score of 2-0. This sent RRQ to the lower bracket. To reach the grand finals, they had to beat PRX and they did it. In a close match, RRQ won 3-2 and moved on to face Gen G once again.
This was special because before this match, RRQ had only beaten Gen G once in eight games. Two of those losses were earlier this season.

Map 1 (Haven): Gen G started strong. On defense, they were unstoppable and led 8-4 in the first half. They kept that energy in the second half and won the first map 13-8.
Map 2 (Ascent): This was where things changed. Usually, defense wins on this map. But RRQ shocked everyone by winning nine straight rounds on attack. They ended the first half with a 10-2 lead. Gen G almost came back, winning eight rounds of their own, but RRQ held on to win 13-11.
Map 3 and 4: These maps showed how strong RRQ are on defense. On Map 3, they won 8 out of 10 defense rounds. In Map 4, they won 7 out of 12 rounds. Their defense made the difference.
