Esports World Cup 2025 MLBB: Knockout Stage Begins

For the second year in a row, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MCS) is creating massive buzz at the Esports World Cup 2025. This tournament has gathered hundreds of pro players from nearly 20 countries, all competing for glory, recognition, and a share of the $3,000,000 prize pool.

This isn’t just another MLBB tournament – this is a final chance for teams to make their mark on the global stage.

One Last Shot at Glory

The road to the cup started with the wildcard stage (July 10–12), giving underdog teams one final shot at proving themselves.

  • 8 teams clashed in an intense elimination bracket.
  • Team Falcons exited early, losing their shot at crucial Club Championship points.
  • Japan’s Zeta Division also couldn’t find their rhythm and bowed out after two days.
  • Ultimately, Virtus.pro kept their nerves in check, narrowly defeating Rare Atom to secure the last spot in the main event.

Group Stage – Upsets and Breakouts

After a week-long break, the Group Stage began, splitting 16 teams into two brackets.

The biggest surprise? Team Spirit.

  • They dominated Group B undefeated, proving they’re much stronger than their 9th–12th finish in 2024.
  • SRG.OG (Selangor Red Giants) and ONIC Philippines also made big statements.
  • SRG.OG fought back from the lower bracket to reach the final 8.
  • ONIC Philippines bounced back after losing to Aurora Türkiye, going 4-0 in the lower bracket.

When the dust settled, only 8 teams remained. Sadly, Virtus.pro and other promising challengers couldn’t survive the cut.

Knockout Stage – Who to Watch?

The knockout stage begins on July 30, and this is where things get really heated.

1. Team Spirit

The only undefeated team so far.

Led by Kemiran ‘Sunset Lover’ Kochkarov, but now they’ll face stronger teams than before.

2. SRG.OG

Reigning EWC 24 champions.

They are improving every match but must defeat RRQ Hoshi before facing Team Spirit.

3. ONIC

Two strong rosters (Filipino & Indonesian) on opposite sides of the bracket.

Both lineups have a genuine shot at making the finals.
