A new leak has sparked fresh excitement around GTA 6, with reports claiming pre orders for the game could officially begin on Monday, May 18.
The rumor started after several users shared details of what appears to be an internal Best Buy affiliate email mentioning a “GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)” campaign running between May 18 and May 21. While the dates reportedly refer to a promotional affiliate period rather than the full pre order window itself, many fans believe it is a strong sign that Rockstar is getting ready to open purchases very soon.
The leak quickly spread across gaming communities online, especially after users on forums like ResetEra, GTA Forums, and Cheap Ass Gamer claimed they had seen the same message.
The timing has fans paying close attention
One major reason people are taking the leak seriously is because of how closely it lines up with Take Two Interactive’s upcoming earnings call on May 21.
If pre orders really go live on May 18, Take Two would have several days of sales momentum and headlines before speaking to investors later that week. Many fans believe the company could use the earnings call to announce huge early numbers and build even more hype around the game ahead of launch.
With the level of anticipation GTA 6 already has, it would not be surprising if the game immediately breaks pre order records once they become available.
At the moment, Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed anything related to the leak.

Fans are still waiting to learn the price
Another big question surrounding GTA 6 is how much the game will actually cost.
Over the past few months, there has been constant discussion about whether Rockstar and Take Two could increase the standard price for the game. Some analysts previously suggested GTA 6 could potentially launch with editions priced close to $100, while others believe the publisher will stay closer to the newer $70 to $80 range that many modern AAA games already use.
Because of the massive demand surrounding the game, many players are expecting multiple versions with different bonuses and collector content.
Rockstar still confident about the release date
Despite repeated rumors about delays, Rockstar still appears focused on releasing GTA 6 on November 19.
Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently joked that plenty of players would probably be calling in sick once the game launches, which many fans took as another sign the company feels confident about the release window.
There have also been reports suggesting Rockstar developers are working under intense pressure to make sure the game is ready on time. Even so, excitement around GTA 6 continues to grow with every new update, rumor, or leak that surfaces online.
For now, all eyes are on May 18. If the Best Buy leak turns out to be accurate, players may only be days away from finally securing their copy of one of the most anticipated games ever made.
