Basic Setup

To start playing Celestial Poker, follow these steps:

• Use a full standard deck and shuffle it well.
• Pick a dealer. The player to the left of the dealer posts the small blind, and the next posts the big blind.
• The dealer gives five cards to each player.
• Once all players have their cards, the game is ready to go.

How to Play

The game starts with the player to the right of the big blind. The first round of betting goes clockwise, and each player can call, raise, or fold.

After the first betting round:

1. The dealer places three community cards (flop) face-up in the center.
2. The second betting round begins, starting with the small blind.

Next, players can exchange their cards like in a draw game. Each player can throw away up to five cards and ask for new ones:

• If a player asks for only one card, it is dealt face-up. The player can either keep it or reject it and take the second card face-down without seeing it.

Once everyone receives their new cards:

1. A fourth community card is placed in the middle.
2. Another betting round takes place.
3. Then the fifth and final community card is revealed.
4. The final betting round begins.

After this, it’s time for the showdown.

How the Winner Is Decided

At showdown, each player creates two separate hands:

1. Five Card Draw Hand – This is made from the five personal cards each player is holding. It follows regular poker rankings.
2. Omaha Hand – Players must use exactly two cards from their hand and three community cards to form the best hand.

The pot is split:

• The best Draw hand wins half the pot.
• The best Omaha hand wins the other half.

If more than one player has the same best hand in any format, the pot can be split even further.
