Last week, for a brief time, players in Black Ops 6 could use their old double XP tokens from Modern Warfare 2 or 3 to level up faster.
However, this mistake was caused by a bug in the game’s interface after the Season 1 update. The bug affected the game’s stability and was quickly fixed, which put a stop to the race for Prestige Master.
After receiving much criticism from players, fan accounts, and Call of Duty streamers, Treyarch has explained that players can still use their stored double XP tokens in Black Ops 6 with a new workaround.
The developer also mentioned that the tokens will be properly reintroduced in a future update. For players wanting to level up their weapons, battle pass, or rank, here’s what they need to do:
How to use double XP tokens on Black Ops 6
To be clear, any new XP tokens earned from the BO6 Season 1 Battle Pass are still usable. You can also use leftover XP tokens from Modern Warfare 2 or 3 by activating them in Warzone and then switching to multiplayer.
To activate them, press the left analog stick (L3) on your PS5 or Xbox controller and select the double XP token you want.
Since you need to launch Warzone and multiplayer separately from the Call of Duty HQ app, this workaround isn’t the easiest, but it’s better than not being able to use your old XP tokens at all.
Also, remember that all three online game modes—Multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies—contribute to your overall progression.
With the start of Season 01, a UI bug allowed players to activate legacy XP tokens in Black Ops 6. Unfortunately, it also introduced some potential risk to game stability, which is why it was patched yesterday.

Has Black Ops 6 been updated?
Yes, after the Season 1 release, Activision released two patches to fix the bugs caused by the update.
These patches addressed several issues, including audio problems that made it harder to hear enemy footsteps and parachutes in Warzone, as well as fixes for weapon damage and overall XP.
