Assassin's Creed Shadows: Naoe's Age And Backstory

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the latest version of Assassin’s Creed, released on 20 March. The game is set in the 16th century, feudal Japan, specifically during the Azuchi-Momoyama period. The theme features historical events with themes of revenge and purpose. The game includes dual protagonists, Naoe Fujibayashi and Yasuke.

Naoe’s age has been a subject of interest since she appears to be a young girl, but given her stealth and combat techniques, she seems to be a more experienced warrior.

In this article, we are going to explore the backstory of Naoe and take an in-depth look at her age.

How Old is Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows? The Answer Revealed

Given her exceptional combat ability and experience in gadgets, she appears to be too young to use it that efficiently. This is why there have been speculations about her age, however, this is the harsh reality of that time period when a lot of children had to mature early and learn to fight in order to protect themselves and their loved ones.

So now comes the most-awaited question: What is the age of Naoe? Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Naoe is 17 years old at the beginning of the game, which explains the surprise of the players. The game’s narrative is from 1579 to 1584, which means that she would be around 22 years old by the end of the story, making her a young but convincing protagonist.

The Making Of A Warrior: Naoe Fujibayashi’s Backstory

Naoe is the daughter of Fujibayashi Nagato, who is a prominent Shinobi. Her upbringing was extremely protective to protect her from the harsh realities of the world until that little perfect world collapsed around them. This brought an end to her sheltered life when Oda Nobunaga invaded their home, Iga, and led to destruction and war, which made Naoe desperate for vengeance.

Her character is a blend of determination and compassion, and she aims to protect her people from the devastating effects of the war. She also wants to strengthen her identity as a Shinobi, and throughout the gameplay, players can witness her growth and track her journey from a naive young girl to a skilled assassin seeking revenge.

Naoe’s gameplay style focuses on stealth, parkour, and gadgetry, which is different from Yasuka, whose style is more of a combat style. Her tools and skills reflect her exclusive training under her father. She also possesses a significant family artefact called the Hidden Blade, which symbolizes her connection to both her heritage and the Assassin Brotherhood.
