“Will GTA 6 be on PS5?” is a hot question among PlayStation fans right now – and it makes sense. Just last month, Rockstar Games dropped fresh footage of GTA 6, and the visuals look stunning. So, it’s no surprise that players are wondering whether the standard PS5 can handle those graphics, and if Rockstar plans to launch the game on the console.
Good news for PlayStation fans, GTA 6 is coming to the PS5! Rockstar Games confirmed this once again at the end of the second trailer. The game is set to launch on May 26, 2026, alongside the Xbox Series X|S version.

The second trailer, which dropped on May 6, 2025, showed off some of the most stunning visuals ever seen in a GTA game. At the end of it, Rockstar mentioned that the footage was captured on a PS5, which had many of us excited.
Still, some fans weren’t convinced and felt the graphics looked too good to be true. To put all doubts to rest, Rockstar reposted the trailer on X the very next day, May 7, and doubled down on their statement, yes, it’s running on PS5.

The statement not only confirmed that GTA 6 is coming to the PS5 but also gave fans a glimpse of how the game might perform on the console. While Rockstar hasn’t shared the exact resolution or frame rate yet, it’s likely that the game will support 4K visuals at 30 FPS on the regular PS5.

Now that the PS5 Pro is also out, the game could run even better on the newer model—possibly reaching a steady 60 FPS or even up to 120 FPS. Rockstar is expected to share more details about how the game will play on different platforms as the 2026 release date gets closer.
